Then, an anti microbial medicine is sprayed below the gums to flush out the bacteria. Finally, antibiotics may be placed into certain areas to treat the infection. Oral hygiene instructions are a very important part of your treatment program. In addition to proper brushing and flossing tips, patients receive a Rotadent professional power brush to help remove bacteria from all the teeth surfaces. After your STM is completed, the frequency of your dental hygiene visits may be increased from two times per year to three to four times per year to help you maintain a healthier oral environment.
